Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a School Psychologist, supporting K-12 students in an urban district near Flint, MI for the 2026-2027 school year (August 17 - June 11). This role offers onsite engagement, where you'll make a real impact through early identification, intervention, and comprehensive support for students with mild to moderate disabilities. With a manageable caseload of approximately 60 students and 35 hours per week, you’ll use your expertise to foster success among students facing academic, social, and emotional challenges.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Michigan School Psychologist Certification or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification required
- Official university transcripts must be provided prior to district presentation
- Background in school psychology, preferably within urban settings; previous agency or K-12 experience preferred
- Strong understanding of special education practices, particularly Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA federal regulations
- Skilled at communicating psychological findings clearly to families, teachers, and administrators
- Comfort and adaptability working within urban school communities
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in the design and implementation of early intervention strategies for students exhibiting learning, behavioral, or emotional concerns
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to inform special education and intervention planning
- Partner with support staff, engage in ongoing professional development, and ensure current best practices in all activities
- Communicate findings and recommendations in a clear and supportive manner, fostering collaborative educational planning
- Implement special education policies consistently across multiple school locations
- Support students and families by recommending relevant community and school-based resources
- Perform related duties as assigned
