School Psychologist - Fredericksburg, VA
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students across two dynamic schools in the Washington DC area (just 45 minutes south of DC). This full-time, contract position spans the 2026-2027 academic school year, offering a varied, impactful caseload working with both elementary and middle school students in northern Stafford.
You’ll primarily focus on assessment and consultation, functional behavioral assessments/behavior intervention plan (FBA/BIP) support, and may occasionally collaborate with social workers in counseling situations. The role has a strong consultative component, supporting Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) frameworks when needed. Every building is staffed with Educational Diagnosticians, so your expertise won’t be required for academic achievement testing.
This is an on-site position with the flexibility of a 4/1 hybrid schedule—enjoy one remote workday per week once established.
Key qualifications:
- Valid Virginia Department of Education (DOE) School Psychologist Certification
- Current Virginia Psychologist License
- Ability to begin VA Department of Social Services background check promptly
- Recent TB Test required
- Experience or coursework with school-aged children, FBA/BIP processes, and MTSS is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal and consultative skills
Primary responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and consultations
- Provide FBA/BIP support
- Support MTSS practices as needed
- Collaborate with staff and social workers when counseling support is required
- Work on-site at one elementary and one middle school in northern Stafford
