School Psychologist - Lenexa, KS
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a dedicated school psychologist. This position centers on comprehensive psychological assessment and support for students with significant disabilities, including those who are non-verbal, physically impaired, or utilize assistive technology for communication. The assignment spans the full academic year, beginning in August and extending through late May. In this role, you’ll conduct tailored assessments, collaborate on individualized education plans (IEPs), and provide expert insights to optimize student learning strategies. Travel between multiple sites in the district may be necessary, offering the variety and real-world engagement many find fulfilling.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid School Psychologist certification/license in Kansas required
- Strong background in psychological assessment, report writing, and collaboration
- Experience working with students with severe or multiple disabilities preferred
- Familiarity with alternative communication methods, including AT devices
- Flexibility to travel between various campuses as needed
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Prior K-12 school setting experience highly valued
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer comprehensive psychological evaluations and report findings
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to intervention planning for students with diverse needs
- Collaborate with families, teachers, and specialists to determine appropriate supports
