School Psychologist - Overland Park, Kansas
Make a lasting impact on students and school communities as a contract school psychologist for the upcoming academic year. This position supports K-12 students with significant needs, including those who are non-verbal, have physical impairments, or use assistive technology for communication. You’ll play an essential role in evaluating and supporting students, collaborating with educators and families, and helping shape thoughtful interventions.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
- Active state licensure as a School Psychologist (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience administering assessments to diverse student populations, particularly those with intense, complex needs
- Proficiency working with students who use AAC or AT devices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility for travel between multiple school sites as needed
- Prior K-12 setting experience preferred
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, observations, and assessments for students with significant disabilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement student-centered support and interventions
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings during IEP meetings and eligibility determinations
- Provide guidance to teachers and support staff regarding best practices for accommodating and supporting students with complex needs
- Participate in crisis response, as appropriate
- Maintain thorough documentation aligned with district and regulatory standards
This is a contract opportunity for the full school year with caseload details discussed during the interview process. The assignment runs from August through May, with the possibility of travel to several campuses across the area.
