Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Connecticut School Psychologist license required
- Previous experience working in a school setting, preferably with high school students
- Understanding of and experience with transition programs for students preparing for post-secondary steps
- Excellent assessment, counseling, and intervention skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Commitment to fostering student growth and well-being
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and interventions to high school students, assessing learning and behavioral needs
- Develop and implement individualized plans in collaboration with teachers, counselors, and families
- Lead initiatives supporting students’ transition from high school to post-secondary education, employment, or independence
- Conduct cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral evaluations
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate educational strategies
- Educate staff and parents on relevant issues impacting student success
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district and state standards
