Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a school psychologist in the Virginia Beach area, just outside Norfolk, VA. This full-time, on-site position begins August 31, 2026, and continues through mid-June 2027. Providers will work weekdays, 35 hours per week, making a tangible impact in an engaging school environment. This is an entirely onsite role—virtual or hybrid arrangements are not being considered.
Key Qualifications:
- Required: Active Virginia Department of Education (VA DOE) licensure
- Required: Active Psychology license
- Strong skills in assessment, counseling, and collaboration with students, teachers, and families
- Experience in K-12 school settings preferred
- Ability to develop and implement effective behavioral and academic interventions
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and interpret results for eligibility, placement, and intervention planning
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education and behavioral plans
- Provide direct support—such as counseling—to students across assigned schools and age groups
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support students’ academic, social, and emotional needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for services and accommodations
- Maintain thorough and organized documentation in compliance with district and state regulations
