Grades 9 - 12 Grades 6 - 8 School Psychologist - Smithfield, VA
Support students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being as a dedicated School Psychologist, working with learners from kindergarten through high school. This full-time, contract opportunity spans the entire school year and is open to both local and travel professionals who are passionate about making a positive impact. Qualifications & Required Background:
- Master’s degree in School Psychology and active licensure required
- Experience working with students in grades K-5, 6-8, and/or 9-12
- Ability to conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and interpret results
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with school staff and families
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs and behavioral interventions
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ academic, cognitive, and social-emotional functioning
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to recommend appropriate interventions
- Provide counseling, support, and crisis intervention when needed
- Consult with educators, parents, and administrators to support student success
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Plans
- Deliver professional development and resources on topics such as mental health and behavioral strategies
