Key Qualifications:
- Active Virginia DOE Certification and Virginia Psychology Licensure required
- Experience conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and creating Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) preferred
- Capability to consult with educators and provide assessment-based recommendations
- Ability to collaborate with social workers for counseling support when necessary
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments for elementary and middle school students, focusing on psycho-educational evaluations (no academic achievement testing required)
- Consult with teachers, staff, and families to support student development
- Provide FBA/BIP services and guidance within the school community
- Occasionally support the MTSS process and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain thorough, accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Begin necessary credentialing steps immediately, including VA Department of Social Services check and TB testing
You’ll be working at two sites (an elementary and a middle school), covering students primarily during the standard academic day (8:00am–3:30pm, 37.5 hours per week).
