As a dedicated school psychologist, you will make a difference at both an elementary and middle school within the district, contributing to student assessment and consultation with a diverse student population.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Virginia Department of Education Certification
- Valid Virginia Psychology Licensure
- Experience or familiarity with Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including social workers and MTSS support staff
- Capable of working with students aged elementary to middle school
- Strong consultation and communication skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and provide consultation across two campus settings
- Deliver FBA/BIP support in coordination with school teams
- Participate in MTSS initiatives as needed, supporting positive student outcomes
- Collaborate with educational diagnosticians (academic achievement testing not required)
- Occasionally assist social workers with counseling services
- Maintain detailed documentation and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
This assignment will run from August 3, 2026, to May 26, 2027, with consistent hours (8:00am–3:30pm, 37.5 hours weekly). Hybrid flexibility means you can enjoy a blend of in-person and remote work, all while gaining valuable experience in a supportive and professional district environment.
The credentialing process is time-sensitive, including a Virginia Department of Social Services background check and a TB test requirement.
