School Psychologist | Triangle, Virginia
Step into a rewarding opportunity as a school psychologist supporting the educational and emotional needs of students across both elementary and middle school levels. This full-time contract position offers an engaging workweek—spanning 37.5 hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.—located in the vibrant community just 45 minutes south of Washington, D.C. The district values flexibility and, while the position is primarily on-site, there’s potential to work one day remotely each week.
Your expertise will be key in providing primarily assessment and consultation services, supporting FBA/BIP processes, and assisting with MTSS as needed. Collaboration with social workers is possible, although not frequent, and every school is staffed with an educational diagnostician—relieving you from academic achievement testing.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Department of Education (DOE) certification
- Valid Virginia psychology license
- Previous experience with school-based evaluations, FBA/BIP, and consultation preferred
- Ability to work with diverse age groups, primarily elementary and middle school students
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Capacity for both independent work and team collaboration
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct student assessments and offer expert consultative input for IEP teams
- Support the implementation and tracking of FBA/BIP and MTSS interventions
- Partner with educators, families, and social workers to foster student well-being
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
- Fulfill full-time requirements across two school sites within the same district sector
Successful candidates will initiate required credentialing promptly, including a VA Department of Social Services background check and TB testing.
Take the next step in your career and make a tangible difference for students. If you’re passionate about supporting young minds in an inclusive educational environment, we invite you to submit your application today!
