Exciting opportunity for a dedicated School Psychologist to serve students across one elementary and one middle school in the northern Stafford area, just 45 minutes south of Washington, DC. This full-time contract position runs from August 3, 2026, through May 26, 2027, and offers the chance to make a real difference through direct assessment, behavioral consultation, and MTSS support.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological and psychoeducational assessments for K-8 students
- Collaborate with educational staff on Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Provide consultation and recommendations for MTSS/RTI processes
- Occasionally support social workers with counseling services, as needed
- Participate in team meetings and share expertise with educators and families
- Maintain timely and thorough documentation for assessments and recommendations
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia Department of Education certification
- Active Virginia Psychologist licensure
- Experience with school-based consultation and assessment preferred
- Must begin the Virginia Department of Social Services background check process immediately
- TB test required as part of onboarding
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Position Details:
- 37.5 hours per week, 8:00 am–3:30 pm, covering two campuses
- Majority of work onsite, with potential for a 4 days on-site/1 remote hybrid schedule
- No academic achievement testing required (Education Diagnosticians on every campus)
- Primary responsibility for assessment, FBA/BIP, and some MTSS/counseling support
