Qualifications & Requirements:
- Specialist-level degree (Ed.S.) or higher in School Psychology from an accredited program, with a completed supervised internship
- Eligibility for Tennessee School Service Personnel (SSP) School Psychologist license; out-of-state practitioners may qualify through reciprocity
- Successful completion of the Praxis School Psychologist Exam (5402), per Tennessee state licensure requirements
Experience and Skills:
- Familiarity with psycho-educational assessment tools and special education law
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with IEP teams, educators, and families
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners, with an emphasis on ethical practice and cultural sensitivity
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations, including initial assessments and reevaluations
- Attend assessment-related meetings and contribute to eligibility and program planning discussions
- Support approximately 20% of the student body identified with special education needs
- Participate in scheduled testing cycles, with evaluations occurring at minimum every six years for each student
- No requirement for Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) or Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
