As a School Psychologist serving in an engaging educational environment, you’ll work with a diverse student population, collaborating closely with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams. This position offers the flexibility of hybrid work options, while primarily being on-site, and will begin with a couple of professional development days so you can get fully oriented before school starts. What you’ll bring:
- Active Louisiana Department of Education certification in School Psychology
- Thorough knowledge of psychoeducational evaluations, special education criteria, and IDEA regulations
- Proven ability to interpret assessment data, write comprehensive evaluation reports, and meet strict deadlines
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including educational diagnosticians, social workers, and speech-language pathologists
- Clear and professional communication skills for parents, teachers, and administrators
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple school assignments
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- Successfully passing the district’s background check and fingerprinting requirements
Key areas of responsibility:
- Provide and interpret educational assessments for students across PK-12 grades
- Write detailed reports and maintain comprehensive case files to support program accountability
- Serve as a key resource, answering questions from families and school staff regarding assessments and student needs
- Suggest and help implement strategies and interventions tailored to each student’s unique educational path
- Participate actively in professional development days and ongoing in-service training with school personnel and parents
- Refer students and families to appropriate community resources as needed
