An outstanding opportunity awaits for an experienced School Psychologist seeking a contract position in a vibrant K-12 setting near Essex Junction, VT. This full-time role spans 37.5 hours per week (Monday through Friday), serving students across multiple school sites, all conveniently located within a half-mile radius. Your expertise will make a meaningful impact by supporting students’ academic and emotional development throughout the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and valid School Psychologist license for the state of Vermont
- Demonstrated experience in assessing and identifying learning disabilities in K-12 students
- Comprehensive understanding of special education processes and psychological evaluations
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and complete 50-60 evaluations annually
- Strong collaboration skills for working with teachers, administrators, and families
- Comfortable providing direct services onsite five days each week
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychological assessments and evaluate students to help identify learning and behavioral needs
- Prepare detailed, legally defensible reports with actionable recommendations for academic and behavioral interventions
- Consult with educators, parents, and support staff to develop and monitor IEPs and intervention plans
- Provide crisis intervention, individual counseling, and consultation as needed to support student success
- Participate actively in school-wide initiatives, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities
