This contract position allows you to collaborate with caring educators and families, offering services to a diverse student body with a substantial number of special education students and re-evaluation cases.
Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are highly desirable. The district seeks candidates able to commit to a full-time role, as well as those interested in part-time (2-day) or contract as-needed assignments specifically to cover bilingual evaluations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current state certification and licensure as a school psychologist
- Experience providing assessments, interventions, and consultative services within K-12 educational settings
- Expertise conducting psychoeducational evaluations and re-evaluations for special education eligibility and programming
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with faculty, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds; bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) preferred but not required
- Flexibility to work across multiple school sites and with various age groups
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations for students across three schools, including elementary, middle, and high school levels
- Address the unique needs of approximately 371 special education students, including timely completion of up to 125 re-evaluations annually
- Consult with teachers, families, and staff to develop and support effective educational and behavioral interventions
- Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and support as needed
- Contribute to Response to Intervention (RTI) and individualized education plan (IEP) processes
