School Psychologist - Ithaca, New York
Step into a rewarding contract role serving elementary and middle school students as a dedicated School Psychologist in the vibrant Ithaca, NY area. This full-time, onsite position starts August 2026 and offers the chance to contribute across 12 unique school sites within a district, supporting a diverse caseload as an itinerant professional.
In this dynamic environment, you’ll work closely with students, educators, and families, fostering student growth and supporting academic and social-emotional development. Your expertise will be vital in identifying student needs and collaborating to implement effective interventions that make a real impact.
What you'll need:
- Current and valid NY School Psychologist license (NY PSYCH)
- Experience working in elementary and/or middle school settings preferred
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites within the district
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and write detailed reports
- Work collaboratively with school teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver crisis intervention, counseling, and consultative services to students, families, and educators
- Support positive school climates and proactive mental health programming
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and adhere to ethical standards
- Provide ongoing support and guidance for educational staff as needed
