Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid Connecticut School Psychologist certification (070) required
- Previous experience with PreK-2nd grade students preferred
- Strong skills in assessing social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Proficiency in conducting observations and completing comprehensive assessments
- Experience developing and implementing therapeutic counseling, both for groups and individuals
- Familiarity with PPT and 504 coordination and facilitation
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the clinical needs of students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Conduct necessary assessments and classroom observations to inform recommendations
- Design and implement group and individual therapeutic interventions
- Facilitate all Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings
- Coordinate and lead 504 meetings to ensure appropriate supports are in place
- Collaborate closely with classroom staff, families, and community resources to support students’ well-being
- Maintain detailed records and uphold compliance with documentation standards
