Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist certification (070) required
- Previous experience working with PreK-2nd grade populations preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of assessment and intervention strategies for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
- Ability to organize and facilitate PPT and 504 meetings effectively
- Strong analytical and observational skills for completing various assessments
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ clinical, emotional, and behavioral needs through observations and standardized tools
- Develop and implement both group and individual therapeutic counseling programs catering to the unique needs of young learners
- Collaborate with teachers, administration, and families to support student development and educational planning
- Lead and coordinate all Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings as well as 504 meetings, ensuring compliance and thoroughness in the process
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress reports
- Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding best practices in student mental health and well-being
