School Psychologist in Chicago, IL
Bring your expertise in educational psychology to a vibrant school community near Chicago, IL! This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to make a real difference supporting PreK-8th grade students for the 26-27 school year. Beginning August 18th and running through June 4th, with possible extension due to emergency days, you’ll partner with a fellow school psychologist to manage a caseload of 180 across elementary and middle school levels. Surrounding areas may also be included, enabling you to build strong relationships and broaden your impact across a dynamic region.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement
- Strong understanding of best practices in school psychology for PreK-8th
- At least one year of post-graduate experience as a school psychologist preferred
- Skilled at collaborating with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and advocacy abilities
- Comfortable managing and splitting a diverse caseload with a colleague
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and behavioral assessments
- Develop and implement interventions to support student mental health and academic success
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized plans
- Provide consultation and guidance for teachers and parents
- Offer crisis intervention, counseling, and support as needed
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to state/district protocols
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with staff and families
