School Psychologist in Aurora, IL

This rewarding contract position is split between two lively high school campuses, where your expertise will help to shape positive outcomes for diverse student populations.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or National Certified School Psychologists certification
- Proficiency in research-based assessment measures, interpreting data, and developing focused support plans
- Strong foundation in evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions
- In-depth understanding of special education law, including IDEA, 504 plans, and child find procedures
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead student support teams in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments and creating Behavior Intervention Plans
- Consult with parents and provide clear, actionable strategies to support students both at school and at home
- Present comprehensive evaluation and observational data to IEP teams for decision-making
- Guide IEP teams in disability identification and special education eligibility
- Serve as LEA representative in IEP meetings, coordinating logistics and facilitating effective communication among stakeholders
- Deliver direct counseling—both one-on-one and in groups—for students experiencing academic or behavioral difficulties
- Partner with teachers to implement classroom management systems that address individual learning needs
- Participate actively in building-level problem-solving and data review via the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS)
- Foster partnerships between school and community agencies to holistically support students and families
