Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or National Certified School Psychologist credential
- Strong background in research-based assessment measures
- Experience with federal/state special education regulations (IDEA, 504, “child find”)
- Capable of developing academic and behavioral support plans
Key Responsibilities
- Guide student teams for Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans
- Consult with and provide resources to parents and guardians
- Present assessment data to IEP teams and assist in determining special education needs
- Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings
- Deliver individual and group counseling for students with adjustment challenges
- Collaborate with teachers to address academic or behavioral concerns and set up management programs
- Participate in School Support Teams to implement MTSS strategies
- Connect students and families with local community resources
