Your work will focus primarily at a site dedicated to special needs and abilities preschoolers, engaging with families and a multidisciplinary team through two-day evaluation sessions.
In this position, you’ll play a vital part in implementing the First Step Transition program, providing early behavioral intervention and guiding Pre-K students—especially those with unique learning needs—toward school readiness and positive classroom experiences. The role emphasizes hands-on, in-person support; remote (VOCO) services are not part of this assignment. With a typical caseload of about 70 students, you’ll collaborate closely with classroom staff, families, and fellow specialists, delivering behavioral coaching, conducting progress monitoring, and offering teacher and caregiver consultation.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid certification/licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience working with Pre-K or early childhood populations preferred
- Strong understanding of behavioral interventions and school readiness support
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., OT, PT, SLP, Autism Consultant)
- Effective communication skills with both children and adults
- Flexibility for occasional additional hours beyond the 35-hour per week schedule
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver First Step Transition behavioral intervention and support services to Pre-K students
- Conduct preschool evaluations as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team
