In this contract position, you will play a pivotal part in implementing the First Step Transition program—supporting school readiness, promoting positive behavior, and engaging families during this crucial educational transition.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid School Psychologist certification (state requirements apply)
- Experience with or interest in working with Pre-K and early childhood populations
- Understanding of evidence-based behavioral interventions
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (including OT, PT, SLP, Autism Consultants, teachers, and nurses)
- Strong skills in consultation, progress monitoring, and caregiver engagement
- Familiarity with conducting preschool evaluations is highly valued
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide First Step Transition behavioral intervention and early support for Pre-K students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers for coaching and consultation to foster positive classroom behavior
- Involve caregivers and families in supporting children’s transition to school
- Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations, partnering closely with SNAP (Special Needs and Abilities Preschool) staff
- Monitor and document student progress, adjust interventions as needed
- Typical caseload is approximately 70 students
