Make a meaningful impact in early childhood education as a contract School Psychologist for a rewarding, on-site assignment focused on supporting Pre-K students. This position, running from August 14, 2026, through June 4, 2027, centers on implementing the First Step Transition behavioral intervention program in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
As a vital member of the team, you will provide behavioral coaching, teacher consultation, and ongoing support for both children and families to ease the transition into the school setting. Your expertise will help foster school readiness, promote social-emotional growth, and encourage positive behaviors in young learners.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master's degree or higher in School Psychology or related field
- Valid School Psychologist credentials in Indiana
- Strong background in behavioral intervention, early childhood development, and assessments
- Experience working with Pre-K or early elementary populations preferred
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., OT, PT, SLP, Autism Consultant)
- Skillful in caregiver engagement and teacher consultation
Responsibilities:
- Implement and adapt the First Step Transition program for Pre-K students
- Deliver behavioral intervention and classroom consultation to support smooth school transitions
- Conduct initial preschool evaluations as part of the SNAP team
- Monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers, caregivers, and multidisciplinary staff
- Involve families in ongoing intervention strategies and school readiness planning
- Manage a caseload of approximately 70 Pre-K students and assist with new student evaluations
