Step into a dynamic role dedicated to making a significant difference in the lives of young learners as a contract School Psychologist, working with Pre-K students in a supportive and collaborative educational environment. This opportunity runs from August 14, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a weekly commitment of approximately 35 hours, and occasional additional time as needed.
Your key focus will be implementing the First Step Transition program, which provides behavioral intervention services designed to enhance school readiness, foster social-emotional development, and promote positive behaviors in Pre-K students. Working closely with multidisciplinary professionals—including occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, autism consultants, nurses, and teachers—you’ll help provide holistic support for up to 70 students at the start of their academic journey.
Qualifications and Experience:
- State certification or eligibility as a School Psychologist is required
- Previous experience in early childhood or Pre-K educational settings highly preferred
- Familiarity with behavioral intervention programs and evidence-based practices for young children
- Strong communication and consultation skills with educators and families
- Ability to participate in multidisciplinary team assessments and preschool evaluations
- Commitment to on-site work (no virtual options available)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized behavioral coaching and direct support for Pre-K students
- Consult with teachers to implement classroom interventions and monitor student progress
- Engage and collaborate with families in support of their children’s transitions to school
- Participate in the multidisciplinary evaluation process for incoming preschool students
- Contribute expertise during two-day testing events, alongside a team of specialists
