Make a positive difference in the school community by providing essential behavioral and counseling support to students with the most intensive social, emotional, and behavioral needs. In this contract position, you’ll play a vital part in empowering students through trauma-informed care, early intervention strategies, and data-driven decision-making within an established student program located near Beaufort, SC.
The focus is on comprehensive, student-centered services aimed at nurturing resilience, academic growth, and emotional regulation. Leverage your expertise as a School Psychologist to help reduce behavioral incidents, disciplinary removals, and barriers to academic achievement, while strengthening students’ interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
What you’ll do:
- Deliver individual and group counseling to help students develop regulation and coping strategies
- Conduct thorough psychoeducational and behavioral evaluations
- Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and assist in designing/monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) implementation
- Consult closely with teachers and families to support student growth
- Participate actively in IEP and Section 504 plan meetings
- Respond to crises, assist with safety planning, and facilitate transition plans to ensure success when returning students to their home schools
Preferred qualifications:
- State School Psychologist certification or eligibility for licensure
- Strong background in trauma-informed, behavioral, and counseling practices
- Experience conducting FBAs and BIPs
- Understanding of MTSS frameworks and special education processes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
