School Psychologist | Norfolk, Virginia
Step into a vital role supporting student success as a school psychologist in the Virginia Beach area. This full-time contract position offers an opportunity to work onsite with a dedicated district community, engaging with diverse students from various age groups. You’ll have the chance to apply your expertise in assessment, intervention, and collaboration to foster positive educational outcomes.
Key qualifications:
- Current, active Virginia Department of Education (VA DOE) licensure required
- Active psychologist license in Virginia
- Background as a school psychologist serving K–12 populations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Adaptability and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
- Availability for the full school year, August 31, 2026 – June 15, 2027
- Experience in school-based psych services is highly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive onsite psychological services, including assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention
- Consult with educators, families, and administrators to support students’ academic and behavioral success
- Conduct individualized education program (IEP) evaluations and help develop plans
- Collaborate with staff to promote a safe and positive learning environment
- Maintain documentation and uphold all ethical and legal standards
- Caseload specifics and number of assigned schools will be determined at placement
This is a 35-hour, Monday–Friday role with a single physical location assignment—no virtual or hybrid options. The district uses a supportive process, and flexibility is possible within your on-site schedule to support work-life balance.
